On Saturday 2nd July, RA Chairman George Lowe presented five community awards during The Referees' Association's Annual Dinner which took place at Jury's Inn, as part of the Development Weekend.
The Joel Richards Award was won by Birmingham RA Member Molly Kavanagh. The trophy is in memory of referee Joel Richards, who tragically died in the 2015 Tunisian Terror Attacks. Throughout the weekend, proceeds from the RA raffle went to the SmileForJoel Charity.
Other award winners included Stockport Referees Society, who won two Community Awards. The North West based Society were named the 2022 Local RA of the Year, and members Harry Winters and Mike Johnson picked up the Social Media and Digital Excellence award on behalf of Stockport Referees.
The Outstanding Contribution to a Local RA award was won by Malcolm Dodd of Doncaster RA and Ian Harley of Yeovil RA was named the Local RA Secretary of the Year.
Rhiannon Stevens of South Wiltshire RA won the 2022 Young Referee of the Year award, while WSL referee Helen Conley picked up a bronze quest award on behalf of Sedgefield RA.
