This November we’re launching an annual event to get referees out running to raise awareness and raise money for Charity.

This year we have been inspired by Marcus Rashford's campaign to provide free meals to families in need we wanted to show our support and that of the refereeing community. We’ve decided to support the charity FareShare, the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 17 independent organisations. Marcus Rashford recently became an Ambassador of FareShare who are helping to provide free meals to those in need.

This November we're asking you to run 6k, give £6 and nominate 6 of your refereeing colleagues to help raise money for this excellent organisation. It’s really simple:

  1. Pick a day in November to run (or walk) 6k.

  2. If you have a fitness tracking app (Such as Strava, Apple Activity, MapMyRun etc), track your run.

  3. Donate £6 once you’ve completed your run on our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ref6k-challenge

  4. Nominate 6 referee colleagues to take the challenge themselves

  5. Post your run, donation and nomination on social media (if you have it) and tag us @REFSIX

  6. Send us your photos of you after your run to contact@refsix.com

We hope the REF6k challenge will become an annual event, showcasing the power of the refereeing community for a worthy cause. Every year we’ll pick a new charity for the refereeing family to contribute to.

Our Partnerships

Partnerships are often formed between individuals, agencies or organisations with a shared interest to address specific issues. Our evidence reveals that our members young and old often require mental, emotional, financial, medical help, support and guidance. The Referees’ Association champion the work of those agencies that provide this support in times of need. Should you require support please contact the relevant agency below or the RA Head Office.
